Day 1 - Arrive Negombo

On arrival meet at International airport & proceed to hotel. On arrival complete the check in formalities. Day at leisure for own activities.

Overnight at hotel in Negombo.

Day 2 - Negombo - Sigiriya

Post breakfast, check out from hotel and begin your journey to explore the beautiful places of Sri Lanka. As you drive to the Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage, make a stop in Kandy. Then continue to Pinnawala, where you can visit the orphanage established to feed and care for young elephants abandoned by their mothers. It's a unique experience to see these elephants up close, especially the baby jumbos being bottle-fed and bathed by their caretakers. During droughts, young elephants often fall into pits and ravines in search of water, and here you can see them wandering around the orphanage, well cared for.

Next, proceed to the Dambulla Cave Temple, which dates back to the 1st century BC. Climb about 200 steps to reach this impressive cave temple, considered the most remarkable in Asia. The temple features images of Lord Buddha, Bodhisattvas, and various gods and goddesses. It features five caves beneath a large overhanging rock, equipped with a drip line to ensure the interiors stay dry. In 1983, the architecture was enhanced with arched colonnades and a gabled entrance. Inside, the ceilings are painted with intricate patterns of religious images that follow the rock's contours.

Overnight at hotel in Sigiriya.

Day 3 - Sigiriya - Nuwara Eliya

Enjoy a delicious breakfast at the hotel before heading to Nuwara Eliya. On the way, visit Kandy, nestled amidst the hills and renowned as one of Sri Lanka's most scenic cities. Kandy is famous among tourists for three main attractions: the sacred tooth relic of the Buddha, the Botanical Gardens in Peradeniya, and its vibrant festivities like the Esala Perahera. The Temple of the Tooth Relic, located within the Royal Palace complex, houses one of the two surviving relics of Buddha's tooth, a revered object for Buddhists.

The Royal Botanical Gardens in Peradeniya are notable for their vast variety of plants, including decorative, ornamental, useful, and medicinal species. Continue your journey to Nuwara Eliya, known as "Little England," via the Gampola road. Along the way, witness the beauty of Ramboda Falls and visit the Labukelle and Blue Field Tea Factories. At the Blue Field Tea Factory, you will have the rare opportunity to observe the process of plucking the world-famous Ceylon Tea and transforming the green leaves into black or brown particles, including the grading process of different tea categories. Finally, proceed to check in at your hotel in Nuwara Eliya.

Overnight at hotel in Nuwara Eliya.

Day 4 - Nuwara Eliya - Bentota

Post breakfast, check out from the hotel and head to your next destination in Sri Lanka: Bentota. Experience the adventure Bentota has to offer. Visit the Sri Baktha Hanuman Temple in Ramboda, an area believed to be where Rama’s forces gathered against Ravana. "RamPadai" means Rama’s Force, and the hills of Ramboda are thought to be where Hanuman searched for Sitadevi. The Chinmaya Mission of Sri Lanka built the Anjaneyar temple here, featuring a 16-foot tall statue of Lord Hanuman.

Next, visit the Turtle Hatchery in Kogoda, established to protect Sri Lanka's turtles from extinction. The hatchery buys eggs from fishermen who collect them at night along the beach. Visitors can see large tanks filled with newborn turtle hatchlings. After feeding, the baby turtles are taken to the sea and released when they are 2-4 days old, usually during the safer hours of darkness. Although October to April is the main laying season, some eggs can be found at Kosgoda year-round. Check in to your hotel, relax, and enjoy dinner.

Overnight at hotel in Bentota.

Day 5 - Bentota - Colombo Departure

Post breakfast, embark on an excursion in Bentota. Head to the Madu River for a boat ride in Balapitiya, which boasts one of Sri Lanka's last remaining pristine mangrove forests. This trip offers a chance to see a variety of wildlife, including monkeys, water monitor lizards, cormorants, egrets, and kingfishers. The river and lagoon are home to 64 islands and about 250 families who are involved in cinnamon and prawn fishing. Continue to Bentota and check into your beach hotel for some relaxation. While at Madu River, don't miss the unique Fish Spa experience. Different cages house various types of doctor fish that gently nibble away dead skin when you dip your feet in the pond.

For the Colombo City Tour, you'll visit historic, religious, and commercial landmarks. Begin in the Cinnamon Gardens area, Colombo's most fashionable residential district. Visit religious sites like the Wolfendhal Dutch Church (built in 1797), a Hindu temple, and the Gangarama Temple on Beira Lake, as well as the famous Red Mosque.

Colombo is the most vibrant city in Sri Lanka, offering a mix of colonial and modern architecture. Start your tour in the Fort area and visit the Colombo National Museum. Proceed to Pettah, a bustling bazaar where you can enjoy street shopping and experience the cultural melting pot of different nationalities and religions. Explore Buddhist temples, Hindu kovils, Catholic churches, and mosques. The tour continues through Wolfendhal Dutch Church, Hulftsdorp Law Courts, Cinnamon Gardens, Independence Square, and the Bandaranaike International Conference Hall. Enjoy high-end shopping at malls like Majestic City, ODEL, and House of Fashion.

As your journey concludes, your chauffeur will ensure a comfortable ride to Bandaranaike International Airport for your departure. Reflect on your memorable experiences in Sri Lanka, a truly unique and captivating country. Depending on your flight departure time, you will be taken to the airport.
