Best Time to Visit Nepal
The optimal time to visit Nepal is from October to December. These autumn months, especially October and November, are considered the best for trekkers due to clear skies and stunning views. During this period, the weather is generally dry, providing excellent visibility of the mountains and trekking routes, with moderate and comfortable temperatures ideal for outdoor activities.
Spring, from March to April, is also a great time to visit Nepal. Rhododendrons are in bloom, and the weather is warm but not excessively hot. Winter is suitable for those interested in exploring Kathmandu and lower-altitude areas, where daytime temperatures are pleasant despite the cold mornings and evenings.
In winter, lower elevations like Kathmandu and Pokhara experience cooler temperatures, but daytime conditions remain enjoyable for activities. However, higher elevations may encounter snow and colder weather, although trekking is still feasible in regions like the Annapurna Circuit or other lower altitude treks.
The monsoon season, from June to August, brings heavy rainfall to Nepal, making it the least ideal time for trekking and outdoor activities due to landslides, muddy trails, and obscured mountain views. However, regions like Mustang and Dolpo, situated in rain shadow areas, can still be reachable for trekking, it is also suitable during this time.
