The Safdarjung Railway Station serves as the boarding point for the luxury train journey on the Palace on Wheels. All the passengers must reach here before 1600hrs. Passengers are greeted with a grand traditional welcome ceremony, which includes garlands, aarti, tikka and Turban, providing an immersive cultural experience right from the start. Guests undergo a smooth check-in process. Staff members are available to assist the guests with their luggage and help them to settle into their cabin. A help desk is there to assist you with any information or enquiry about the journey. All the guests will be served with welcome drink and brief information about the amenities and facilities inside the train.

Palace on Wheels operates every year between September to April. It departs every Wednesday from Safdarjung Railway station, New Delhi on its scheduled journeys. All the guests must report at 1600hrs for check in process.

Cancellation Policy
If travelers wish to cancel their tour, they must inform in writing through email. The refund amount will depend entirely on how many days remain before the train's departure.
In the event the Operator cancels the booking on its own, a full refund (100%) of the amount paid will be processed, without any additional charges or claims.
However, the Operator will not be responsible for any refunds or compensation related to services arranged separately by the guest or travel agents, such as airline tickets, pre/post accommodation, excursions, or other related arrangements.
The Operator, with prior intimation to RTDC, reserves the right to cancel any scheduled departure for any reason. In such a scenario, a full refund of the amount received will be provided.
In case of low occupancy, the Operator will review the situation and notify travel agents 60 days prior to the departure. The Operator may cancel the departure up to 30 days in advance and will inform the concerned agents or individuals accordingly.
A minimum occupancy of 50%, equivalent to 17 cabins, is required for the train operations to be conducted.
