Tour Overview

Lord Buddha spend a good part of his life in India, he has been to many locations with his disciples to preach the people about the principles of moral thoughts and actions, most of these places are temples, monasteries and stupas now. There is no other better place than Buddha temples, to spend some time in serenity to unwind your spirits. With this 14 days package, the initial five days of the tour, you will explore the popular cities of Golden Triangle tour which are Delhi, Agra, Jaipur and then proceed to the major Buddhist pilgrimage sites. This tour will give an extraordinary experience of India heritage and spiritual insight to all the travellers and we hope you will enjoy it.

Day 1 - Arrive Delhi

On arrival at Delhi airport meet with Go High Travels representative, who will introduce you with your driver and brief you about your tour “ Golden Triangle With Buddhist Tour”. Now proceed to pre booked hotel, on arrival complete the check in formalities. Day at leisure.

Day 2 - Delhi tour

Post breakfast leave for Delhi sightseeing. Delhi - The Capital city of India, is of great historical significance as an important commercial, transport, and cultural hub. It has been the centre of a succession of mighty empires. It’s famous for its spectacular monuments. The main attractions are Qutab Minar- tallest stone tower in India, Humayun’s Tomb, Lotus Temple (Bahai Faith Temple), drive pass India Gate that’s also called All India War Memorial, President’s House and Parliament House. Transfer back to hotel. Overnight at hotel in Delhi.

Day 3 - Delhi - Jaipur by drive

Post breakfast , drive to Jaipur (5.5hrs. approx.), on arrival check in at your hotel. Jaipur - one of the most prominent cities of Rajasthan Western state of India, which is popularly known as pink city. The city was founded by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II in 1727. Jaipur which complete the most popular tourist circuit in India along with Delhi & Agra is Golden Triangle. Overnight at hotel in Jaipur.

Day 4 - Jaipur tour

Post breakfast leave for sightseeing tour, proceed to Amber city with guide, enroute take a stop at Jal Mahal for photo shoot, proceed & visit to Amber Fort built in 16th century, enjoy an elephant ride at Amber (Optional/ direct payment). Now proceed back to city visit City Palace and museum, take a stop at Hawa Mahal-a Palace of winds. Transfer back to hotel. Optional Activities - • Elephant ride to Amber fort. • Shopping - Jewellery, Textiles, Handloon & Handicrafts Overnight at hotel in Jaipur.

Day 5 - Jaipur - Agra by drive

Post breakfast check out from hotel and proceed to Agra by drive (5hrs. approx.) . Agra - Situated on the bank of River Yamuna, is a major tourist destination as home to the iconic Taj Mahal and other buildings of Mughal era. It is also one of the major city of popular Golden Triangle tourist circuit along with Delhi & Jaipur. On arrival check in at hotel. Overnight at hotel in Agra.

Day 6 - Agra - Varanasi by train

Post breakfast check out from hotel and take Agra city tour, visit Agra Fort built by the great Emperor Akbar, next is the famous Taj Mahal (remains closed on Friday) - the symbol of love, built by Emperor Shah Jahan in the memory of his wife Mumtaz Mahal. On time transfer to railway station to board the train to Varanasi. Overnight on board.

Day 7 - Arrive Varanasi

On arrival meet at Varanasi railway station & proceed to hotel. Now proceed for city tour, visit BHU(Banaras Hindu University) which is the largest residential university of Asia, with 124 departments, Durga Temple or Monkey Temple, Bharat Mata Mandir, Kashi Vishwanath Temple - the temple was destroyed multiple times by Mughal invaders and was re-constructed by Hindu kings who followed them, now pay a visit to the Ghats, it is a series of steps leading down to the river used by bathers and pilgrims. Dasaswamedh Ghat is the main Ghat. Afternoon take excursion trip to Sarnath it a place where the Buddha preached his first sermon in the Deer Park, contains the most impressive remains, as well as a modern temple. In the evening witness Ganges arti and enjoy Rikshaw ride. Return back to the hotel. Overnight at hotel in Varanasi.

Day 8 - Varanasi - Bodhgaya by drive

Post breakfast check out from hotel & proceed to Bodhgaya (5hrs. approx.) by road. On arrival check in at hotel. Bodhgaya - it is the place where Buddha attained supreme knowledge or Enlightenment under the Bodhi tree. It is considered the most important pilgrimage for all sects of Buddhists throughout the world. It is the spiritual home of Buddhist. Later visit Mahabodhi Temple, Niranjana River and Sujata Village. Transfer back to hotel. Overnight at hotel in Bodhgaya.

Day 9 - Bodhgaya - Ragjir - Nalanda - Patna by drive

Post breakfast head to Patna (5hrs. approx.) enroute visit Nalanda & Rajgir. Rajgir -The picturesque Rajgir, or Rajagriha as it was known in the past (literally, the abode of kings) is surrounded by the meandering river Banganga and 5 hills. During the lifetime of the Buddha this was the capital of the powerful Magadhan kingdom, ruled by the virtuous King Bimbisara. The hills and caves surrounding Rajagriha were home to spiritual teachers, ranging from the materialism of the early Charavaka school to the metaphysics of Upanishadic philosophers. Like many others in search of truth, Prince Siddhartha, after he renounced his royal heritage came to this city to seek the path of vation. Nalanda- it was the most renowned university in ancient India. It derived its name from Na-alam-da, meaning Insatiable in Giving, one of the names by which the Lord Buddha was known. Arrive Patna and transfer to hotel . Overnight at hotel in Patna.

Day 10 - Patna - Vaishali - Kushinagar by drive

Post breakfast drive to Kushinagar (7hrs. approx.), enroute visit Vaishali - the lord Buddha preached his last sermon here before his death. Arrive Kushinagar & transfer to hotel for smooth check in. Overnight at hotel in Kushinagar.

Day 11 - Kushinagar- Lumbini by drive

Post breakfast check out from hotel and visit Kushinagar, it the place where the Buddha finally attained Mahaparmirvana. Amongst the ruins are the Mukutbandhan Stupa and a beautiful statue of the reclining Buddha. Visit the Mahaparinirvana Temple & Stupas . Later drive to Lumbini (4.5hrs. approx.) & transfer to hotel. Lumbini - the birthplace of the Buddha, was located in 1890 after being untraced for 1,500 years. Evening free for own activities. Overnight at hotel in Lumbini.

Day 12 - Lumbini tour

Post breakfast take local sightseeing of Lumbini, It is famous in the world for being the sacred site of Lord Buddha’s birth. The visiting points are Maya Garden, Vietnam temple, Japanese and Chinese temple, Ashoka Pillar. Also visit Maya Devi temple which is believed the birth place of Lord Buddha, you will find a sacred pond beside the temple. Return back to hotel. Overnight at hotel in Lumbini.

Day 13 - Lumbini - Sravasti by drive

Post breakfast drive to Sravasti - the capital of the ancient kingdom of Kosala, has the honour for sheltering Buddha for 24 rainy seasons in the Jetvana Gardens. The city believed to be founded by the mythological king Sravast, has age-old stupas, majestic monasteries and several temples. Buddha is said to have performed some miracles here, this is the place where he delivered many of his important sermons. In Sravasti visit Saheth - Maheth & Jetvan, It has a number of Buddhist Stupas and monasteries. Overnight at hotel in Sravasti .

Day 14 - Sravasti - Lucknow by drive AND Lucknow - Delhi by flight

Post breakfast drive to Lucknow & transfer to railway station to board the air conditioned train for Delhi. Arrive Delhi, pickup from railway station & transfer to airport to board the flight for onwards journey. ***TOUR END***
