A Ladakh road trip is a thrilling adventure through some of the highest and most scenic terrains in the world. Journeying across rugged mountains, vast deserts, and pristine lakes, it offers breathtaking views and an adrenaline rush. The route includes iconic destinations like Khardung La, Nubra Valley, and Pangong Lake. This unforgettable experience combines natural beauty, culture, and a sense of freedom on the open road.
Arrive in Leh in the morning and proceed to the hotel for check-in. Spend the day resting to acclimatize to the high altitude of Leh (11,500 ft / 3500 m).

After breakfast, visit Shey Palace, Thiksey Monastery, and Stok Palace Museum. After lunch at the hotel, explore Shanti Stupa, Sankar Gompa, and Leh Palace, followed by a visit to the local markets.

Embark on a full-day excursion to Pangong Lake (approximately 300 km round trip, located on the Indo-China Border), crossing the Chang-la Pass (altitude: 17,370 ft.) along the way. After sightseeing around the lake, drive back to Leh, arriving in the late afternoon or evening. Overnight at hotel in Pangong.
After breakfast, depart for Nubra Valley, driving over Khardung-la (altitude: 18,380 ft). Once you descend from the pass, enjoy sightseeing in the Sumoor area and visit Samstanling Gompa. Later, check into a fixed camp in the area or continue on to Deskit/Hundar for an overnight stay in a fixed camp or hotel.

Nubra-Leh
In the morning, visit and explore Deskit, Hundar, and the Sand Dunes, where you can enjoy a short camel safari on the unique double-humped Bactrian camels (optional, payable directly). Later, drive back to Leh, arriving in the late afternoon or evening.

After a leisurely breakfast, depart for Alchi/Uleytokpo, the first stop on your journey to Kargil and Srinagar. Along the way, visit the Hall of Fame, Gurudwara Patthar Sahib, Magnetic Point, and the Sangam (confluence of the Indus and Zanskar Rivers). Continue on to the 11th-century Alchi Choskor, the oldest surviving monastic complex, renowned for its wall frescoes and architecture – a UNESCO-listed heritage site.

After breakfast, depart for Kargil. On the way, visit the dramatically situated Lamayuru Monastery and the nearby "Moonland" hills. Continue your drive towards Kargil, with a stop to view the 9-meter-tall rock sculpture of Maitreya Buddha at Mulbek (dating back to the 7th–8th century AD).

Early departure for Srinagar, driving through Drass (known as the second coldest inhabited place in the world), and crossing the Zoji-la Pass (11,500 ft / 3,505 m) to reach Sonamarg. From there, enjoy a smooth 2-hour drive to Srinagar, passing through the picturesque Kashmir countryside.
